dynamic input settings

how do I disable my dimension input from going in the drawing window prompt while using dynamic input? I would rather have my input go into the command line. The reason is, the drawing window prompt sometimes (quite often) doesn't keep up with my keystrokes. for example, say I want to move a wall 24". I invoke move, select the wall, left click to start the command, then very quickly type 2,4,right click. Sometimes it only catches the 4 and my wall gets moved only 4". But when it's set to register your input in the command line, this never happens. I know this can be changed, because I have it set to work that way on another computer, but I compared all of the dsettings, dynmode, dynprompt, dyninfotips system variables, AutoTrack settings (all 3 are on), and I can't figure out the right combination. Here's a clip of my dsettings... thanks for any help!

There are only 4 toggle boxes and 2 settings boxes. Those all correspond to the sysvars you mentioned. Are you saying you've compared those four toggle boxes, and the settings inside the two settings boxes, and they are the same?

exactly. the only difference is that the version that it works the way I want it to is AutoCAD Architecture 2023, and I'm trying to get it to work in vanilla AutoCAD 2022. I can't imagine that the version makes a difference though. I could disable dynamic input of course, but I like seeing a dynamic 'preview' of the distance I am dragging something in real time. Other than that, I really have no desire to use dynamic input.

i'd be suspicious of AutoCAD Arch having some extra settings/options that do not apply to vanilla AutoCAD.
