DEFAULT MENU NOT LOADED

we just installed autoCAD 2016 onto a laptop. the default menu did not load and the ribbon does not have any panels. I can draw lines by using the line command. the menubar is loaded but is only showing express tools. do I need to download a file or is there a file I need to load that I already have to get the draw toolbar, and the rest of my drawing tools, editing, and layers tools and buttons. it feels like its kind of half set up.

How do you know that the ACAD.CUIX is not loaded? How did you verify that?

When you first started AutoCAD 2016, and in case you have an older version of AutoCAD installed, you were asked if you want to migrate settings, did you migrate?

What you can try: use the "reset settings to default" option as described >>>here<<<.

If that does not work then show us a screenshot from AutoCAD 2016 when a drawing is opend/new drawing is active so we can see your current state.

Thank you so much. That worked like a charm! I saw that same thing earlier but didn't put one and one together. I was looking on the c drive for a default settings file to run and in the middle of that I saw your post. I didn't think it would be so simple as going through the windows menu. I had searched through ALL of the autoCAD folder files on the C: drive & several other places for a default settings folder then I read your post and it dawned on me, duh, you big dummy, hit the windows button. Then boom done. Haha success! It was so simple.
