Changing Line Types

I am trying to change line types. It should be simple, but I must be missing a key fundamental.

I changed Line type in Properties to "BYLAYER" for that line.
I also went to Layer Properties Manager and changed the line type to desired Line type.

Nothing changed about the line. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

that is right!

Test:

Only in MODEL tab

with a LINE or CIRCLE

-run Regen command

-make sure you are in VisualStyle 2D Wireframe (shademode command)

- what is LTSCALE set to?

- Linetype name?

- MSLTSCALE is off? Turn it off (0)

-Select your line, check Linetype scale.

Test a scale what is 10 100 1000 10000 time higher / or lower.

visual style 2D wire frame is selected
My LT Scale is set to 1.0000
The line type name is Dashed
MSLTSCALE did the trick...It was set to 1.

Thanks a lot for the help!!!!...I was starting to doubt my CAD skills haha

We can't be certain that when someone uses the word "line" they mean a Line entity per se in AutoCAD's terminology. If it's really a Polyline, with segments shorter than the linetype's definition cycle at the scale involved, it could be just that it does not have linetype generation enabled [bottom of the Properties palette with it selected].
