If the xref has been deleted in the drawing, it becomes "Unreferenced". You need "Attach" it again. "Reload" isn't able to recover deleted xrefs.

Most of my xrefs are showing up as either unreferenced or not found. When I try to reload them it fails. The file paths are correct and the files were not moved so I'm not sure why I have to keep fixing this over and over again. Is there a way to fix it and prevent it from happening again?

PS It would REALLY help if there was a way to set preferences in our Autodesk Community account to only search topics within a certain date range. I'm using AutoCAD 2017. The answers from 2008 don't do me any good but I can sort by relevance or date but not both. I can either look through current, but not relevant, answers or relevant answers that are too old to be useful. It can be pretty exhausting to plow through a ton of responses and still not find an answer.

Did you try to reload using the following option. If it doesnt work, can you send us your drawing with xrefs to investigate further.

Just curious, where are the files stored?

Also, could you attach a screen shot of the External References Palette or Xref Manager with one reference selected?

Hi, They're on my local drive. I found a solution elsewhere; I had to repath everything, but it worked. Thanks

One odd thing... the button with three little dots doesn't appear in my x-ref manager which threw me a bit.

Hi @Anonymous,

I am glad that resetting the path worked!

Can you explain for other community members how you originally had them defined and then how you remapped to fix the problem?
