It's about geometry. The other shapes need relative x and y references in order to define the shape. A circle does not, outside of defining the location. AutoCAD doesn't even given it an angle property.

AutoCAD / MEP 2016 SP1 Win 7 x64, AutoCAD / MEP 2017.1 Win 7 x64

I've noticed the quadrant object snap does not work on circles rotated about an axis (x for example). The quadrant object snap works properly on both arcs and ellipses that are rotated about an axis, just not circles. Attached is a sample file which illustrates this. Has anyone else noticed this behavior?

JMV

Hi,

I suggest to change your UCS to the degree that you need and you will be able to snap to the rotated quadrants.

I see the file attachment was missing.

Thank you, I assume you were able to see this behavior. I am aware that rotating the UCS allows the quadrants to be selected, the question is why is this necessary only with circles?

JMV

I see your point looking at the properties exposed. Funny, since a circle is just a special case of an ellipse. Thanks, JMV
