You are supposed to be able to hover the pointer over the intersection of 2 walls and press tab until you see a blue grip(I'm trying to get the dimension of an angled wall)

I can cycle through the wall faces and center lines but never get the intersection grip.

I also tried typing SI and all I got was the chime that I assume means 'you can't do that'

To clarify. I'm unable to find the intersection grip while trying to get dimensions for a 45 degree angle wall using the aligned button in revit 2016.

I have individual preferences selected and I have tried all>wall centerlines, wall faces etc... The intersection grip just will not appear.

I checked grips under manage and all the snaps (including intersection) are checked on.

This is extremely frustrating and I am at a complete standstill in the course I'm taking. Spent 2 hours trying to figure it out and woke up numerous times last night thinking about it.

Google search reveals nothing useful other than a YouTube video where a guy breezes right through the process as the grip appears as it should

I have older software here, but I think the issue should be the same....

Just to re-phrase what others have said, in the hope that you will understand better....

Type OSNAP and make sure INTersection mode is among those that are checked.

Get into some command, such as DIST if your intent is to find an angle. [Line would do, too, if you have the Status line set to report the angle as you're drawing them.] Then within that command, when it's asking for a point, hover over the vicinity of that intersection. An Object-snap marker should appear. It may be the one for something other than INTersection, depending on the characteristics of what's drawn there. The marker for INTersection looks like an X. If it's something different, TAB will cycle through the applicable Osnap modes. When the X appears, pick the point, and continue with the command.

OK. I've searched OSNAP and it appears to be in AUTOCAD ... I'm trying to snap to an intersection in REVIT 2016

I really appreciate everyone responding and I apologize for my ignorance of the terminology. I have little to no experience and I'm trying to learn from the book... REVIT 2016 NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.

Several people have commented to type this or that (OSNAP etc).... I don't know where to type in revit. All I see are drop down menu's

I'm in chapter 5 on Dimensioning and Annotating

My instructions for dimensioning an angle are :

Click annotate>aligned button >individual preferences

Then hover my point over the inside face of the brick in the angled wall

Tap the tab key until you see 'the square grip' appear

The illustration shows a blue box

I'm afraid that I started a forum in AUTOCAD?
