.CAD extensions to DWG

Hello,

I have some .CAD files that I would like to open and convert either to DWG or PDF. Does anybody know how to open them?

You'll have to find the application that can read .CAD files and export to .DWG/.DXF/.PDF

I'm presuming the .CAD files were created in QuickCAD?

Hi @npolignan,

This file format is pretty old and was likely created in Drafix, QuickCad or AutoSketch. None of these applications are still on the market but there might be some conversions routines out on the web or some folks that might convert for you if they still have the applications running. I understand that there was also ProCut that saved in this format.

To be honest these files were in an archive and nobody knows who/ or what programmed was used to make them.

Please see attached example of file, let me know if you are successful in opening it or know how to open it.

It does not let me attached file because it does not recognize the extension. Let me know if I can share it with you any other way, such as email.

You always have the chance to create a ZIP-file from your file and then upload the ZIP-file instead.

You might be able to match the hex strings to some listed here.

Hi @npolignan,

Believe it or not, the files can be opened. I have attached a PDF version of one for you. This was opened and then printed to a PDF using AutoSketch which is no longer sold. Perhaps you can find a copy on Amazon or elsewhere.
