Hi all,

I draw a profil to create a revolve solid around Y axis (file enclosed).

The profil is closed (coincident constraints between the different elements).

The created object from : Solid > revolve is actually a surface model (error message : Unable to revolve 1 selected object, but which one???). I used SOLID > revolve and not SURFACE > model.

Then I did a test with a basic shape : a rectangle.

From Home > draw > rectangle, the obtained shape revolve (around one of the retangle edge) is a solid (from Solid > revolve). However, if a create a rectangle with 4 segments I get a surface model (from Solid > revolve) ...

How is this possible?

Could someone help me to create a SOLID from my profil instead of a surface model?

Thanks a lot in advance for the help. 🙂

Benjamin.

Hi,

I suggest to change your 2D shape to polyline by (bpoly) command then you will get the result that you want from Revolve command.

That's kind of a funky drawing there. Whenever I tried to copy geometry it seemed like nothing happened. In fact when I tried some commands it seems they were disabled.

But I did get it to revolve into a solid. First I had to remove the constraints, then I saved, opened a different drawing and inserted the revolution.dwg, explode, created a region, and revolved the region.

Weird, I just opened the drawing again and now I can work with it
