Hi,

welcome @Anonymous.autodesk.com!

>> and the file will not save down to 2010, incompatible entities

I'm using AutoCAD 2017 Update 1.1 ... and yes, I get a message with a warning (see screenshot), but I can save the drawing including a pointcloud-reference back to DWG-2010 format.

The message I get is that:

So first verify that your AutoCAD 2017 is updated to "Update 1.1".

What reason do you have to save the drawing back to DWG-2010 format (as the point-cloud can't be used then)?

Using vanilla AutoCAD, or a vertical?

I just created a revcloud and rectangle in AutoCAD 2017, and saved it down to 2010 DWG version (you mentioned 2013, which is the same DWG format used in AutoCAD 2017).

Anyway, the 2010 drawing works fine when opened in an earlier version.

To avoid getting that message and the one that is similar when opening the saved down file, you need to export the file. In vanilla AutoCAD, I believe the correct syntax is "-EXPORTTOCAD". This will convert these newer features that the older versions don't recognize to something compatible.

Do NOT use SAVEAS command to knock the file down.
Click on the big red A at the top left.
Select the saveas menu, select the DWG CONVERT option
Select the CONVERT TO 2010 option, then add your file to this pop-up.

This is how you properly convert a file to R2010 without any content in 2017 interfering.
