Please can anyone help converting .TCW

I previously posted how i asked my architect technician to supply me with a copy of a dwg for my house extension plans.

however every dwg he sent me was corrupted and he couldn't figure out what was wrong, transpires he is actually using TurboCad which he was exporting a dwg from but he isn't really au-fait with the software so as a last resort I asked him if he could supply the native file, it has a .TCW extension. Could anyone please help me in converting this so it can be used with AutoCad please , i.e dwg file or I understand that dxf format is compatible too

I tried to attach the TCW file to this post but it was rejected as it said it wasn't a valid file format but Ive got it on Dropbox and can share if you message me e-mail

Hi @Anonymous,

It appears that the file is one from TurboCAD. Here is a link that describes how it can be converted. If you like, put it in a zip file to attach it to a post and I can take a look at it for you.

I haven't got AutoCad myself but am passing file onto another designer on Monday so hopefully they can confirm ! As a quick check when you look at the file in AutoCad do you see multiple lines overlapping (as in screen shot below) or does it look 'normal' ?

John,
The designer tried to use that file that you zipped up for me but there was no .dwg extension on end and when she tried to manually append it Autocad rejects it. Is there a way for you to send me the file without it stripping off the .dwg please ?

I have a bunch of files I need to convert from TurboCad v18.2 to a compatible Autodesk format (Fusion 360), both 2D and 3D.

Can you tell me how you converted it or what converter you used for the file in this post?

It would be really nice if I could find a way to batch convert them as I have several hundred.

Hi @Anonymous,

The only way i have been successful in converting files from TurboCAD to AutoCAD is by exporting them from TurboCAD. If you don't have a license for the product, they generously offer a trial of the full version so you could grab it and get your files converted as necessary. If this is a continual process or workflow, I encourage you to acquire a license of TurboCad in addition to your AutoCAD license.
