TWO VIEWPORTS TWO SCROLLBARS

In Model Space I often use two viewports split vertically. This allows me to edit text details with a large overview representation displayed underneath. Problem I have is - even though I have TWO VIEWPORTS, there is only ONE SCROLLBAR on the right side of the screen, and the distance that it scrolls within the active viewport is directly related to the size of the overall drawing, not to the size of the specifically active viewport that I am currently working in.

I suggest an option to choose whether a model space viewports has its scrollbar or shares a common scrollbar (ala the current standard). And I further suggest that the behavior of the scrollbar should be related to the zoom level of the active viewport, not to the overall size of the drawing.

Kind of like Excel, you can choose to scroll and have them synced or not. Got my vote but you might submit to AUGI.ORG.

Care to explain the difference??

Personally I haven't used a scrollbar since the advent of wheel mice, why move my pointer out of the drafting area to grab a slider when I can just roll the wheel?

Understood, thanks. I do navigate to some extent with the wheel as well, but personally, I use the wheel to zoom in and out, not scroll up and down. To move up and down vertically and horizontally I use that old scrollbar thing. Specifcally the up and down / left and right arrows.

Do you know about MBUTTONPAN?? Set it to 1 and PAN by pressing down on the middle button, no need to move the cursor off the drawing area.
