Rotate ARCTEXT in 3rd Dimension

In this picture, I was able to rotate the 'T's in the orientation I want:

Can someone please help me find a way to rotate the 'S' and 'E' 90 degrees in the 3rd dimension as was done with the 'T's?

The text 'TEST' was made with ARCTXT and TXTEXP.

HI,

the idea is : ( see attached CAD file)

- from your plan view rotate your text in proper readable way.

- copybase the text objects by Ctrl+Shift+c.

- now change your view to 3D view.

- now the trick is to paste Ctrl+v the objects on the face of test cube that where ever you paste the text will appear on that face BUT you have to make sure that Dynamic ucs is ON by pressing ( F6 ) .

Thanks for the response! The information you gave me will be very useful for future projects.

I'm actually looking to wrap text around a cylinder, so I'm not sure how I can use FACE with the UCS. Copying and pasting in different UCS orientation gives me the upper white 'S' and 'E' in a position I do not care for.

I need help rotating the text as shown in this picture I made with MSPaint. The yellow text orientation is what I would like to achieve:

The white line would be the diameter of the cylinder. I would like the text to wrap around the cylinder in the orientation shown with the white 'T's and yellow letters.

Any additional help would be much appreciated.

Hi @masterenol,

I was actually posting to support Imad's suggestion and I made a Screencast in case you needed help. THEN, my post crashed and then I saw your new post.

So, in seeing your new post I would suggest that you actually create curved surfaces that you might apply to your cylinder and then create images to map as materials to them.

Let me know if that makes any sense for what you are trying to accomplish.

Thanks for the reply. Using materials is something I can experiment with, thanks!

I also found a way to achieve the results I want. I made a LINE from the lower MIDPOINT of the letter 'E' and connected it to the center of the circle. I made a 3D triangle so I have the FACE that I want the letter orientation to match. From here I used ROTATE to get the letter orientation almost exactly how I want:

If anyone would like to share a more efficient way of achieving these letter orientations, I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi @masterenol,

Sounds like you have it under control. The advantage of using materials is that it will actually curve the letter images to fit the surface. I am not sure if that is what you are looking for or not.

I don't see an 'Accept Solution' button. I've seen those buttons before in green, but the button does not show up for me in this thread.
