That says a lot! What brand ot SAN or NAS are they? How do they implement Windows File Shares? What is the network protocol being utilized?

I'm having a big of a strange issue with file pathing within AutoCAD. About a year ago my computer could not make relative paths for xrefs and rather then showing a typical file path utilizing a typical mapped drive, it would show a path with a specific IP. This was an issue since any xrefs I put in a file become lost whenever anyone else on the team tried opening the files. In addition to that, whenever I imported a file into the Sheet Set Manager, the same pathing issue would happen and on other people's computers would appear as sheets with lost or broken paths. Without fixing/changing anything in my settings or preferences the issue just kind of went away about 8 months back. It is back again though, and I have made no changes to any settings that should cause this issue.

Anyone have experience with this/a fix/what causes this to happen?

I'm wondering if this is more of a server issue rather than AutoCAD issue, but no I've never seen that.

I believe we are on a Windows Network. Really what we're on is a multi-terabyte set of drives attached to our router to create a shared drive space. For all purposes it functions like a server.

This type of configuation is not one that is supported. Regardless, changing the network Protocol might let the shares be looked at differntly. Try turning off SMB3 if you have it enabled to see if that helps.
