I recently updated to AutoCad 2016. Since then I have noticed that when I plot my drawings the lineweights are much thinner than plotting the same drawing in AutoCad 2014. I have opened the drawing in both versions without saving anything in between and it prints differently. I suspect it has something to do with a support file but have no idea which it would be.

Thanks

HI @Anonymous,

When you did your upgrade, did you migrate your PC3 files? I suggest trying a new one that is created from scratch. Then, make sure that the exact same plot style is being used when creating the print.

Can you attach a sample file that displays this behavior along with the plot style file that you normally use? Are you printing to a hardware printer of to a PDF?

Please give me a bit more detail please.

Our IT installed the upgrade so I don't think that the PC3 files were migrated. Although I simply took a drawing created in 2014 and opened it with 2016 and then double checked that the plot style and other print settings remained the same.

I have tried both printing to hardware as well as printing to PDF and the same problem seems to occur.

I have attached my pc3 file.

You can either append a different file extension onto the file names or put them in a zip in order to get them to attach.

The HDI versions should increment with each version of AutoCAD. My AutoCAD 2017 uses 13

Hi @Anonymous,

I have the CTB stored in it's standard location in each version . I am not "sharing" it. When I try to access it in the plot window in 2016 it says NOT found even though it is stored in the correct folder. Perhaps it is worth recreating this from scratch in 2016. I suspect that your current one is not being applied in your print job.

Thanks.

It's the SCALE LINEWIGHT option that is at fault in R2016: if you plot at 1:1 to the sheet's default size does this actually look correct or is it too thick/thin in R2016?

If I print at 1:1, at the original size, with the scale lineweights turned off it appears to work. If I print at 1:1, original size but have the scale lineweights checked than it again prints very thin lines.
