MTEXT Slows down drawing opening

Hey, All,

When I open my Template it opens just fine. As soon as I add 1 piece of MTEXT to the drawing, close and save, When I reopen it if freezes up for several minutes before opening.

If I explode the MTEXT to TEXT all is well.

No TTFs Just simplex.

What gives?? Any Suggestions

I've never heard of such a problem before in 28+ years: how quirky.

When did all of this start? What is your AutoCAD version? Windows OS? Where do you store your files?

I know this is old but the issue was...There were too many fonts in our support directory that were loading with each instance of MTEXT.

Even though they weren't being used. By limiting the number of fonts in our support directory and moving our support files to local this eliminated the issue.

I think the location was the key and not the number of fonts loading, AutoCAD could not easily find them.
