Hi @Anonymous,

Lets start with the easy part. The Scale List will display based upon the Template you start your new drawing. So, if you open your default template and add them there, your future drawings will have the scales in them.

You can also set the Default Scale List in User Preferences found in Options.

If you can email me your titleblock I can try to determine what is happening when you insert it.

Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post solves your issue or answers your question.

Hi @Anonymous,

Is the title block issue happening in older files? Or just ones you are creating now? Please open Options and in the Files Tab go down to Template Settings. There is a sub item called Default Template File Name for QNEW> Please select that and point it to an Imperial units template such as ACAD>DWT.

Then start a new drawing and insert the titleblock. Are you still seeing it disappear when you explode?

I believe your units are not matching that of the drawing you are inserting into.

You are welcome to send me the drawing since I already have your titleblock and I would be happy to hammer this out for you.

Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post solves your issue or answers your question.

Its probably a units issue as John points out, but I gotta ask, why are you exploding the title block?? Use attributes (ATTDEF) in the block for all changeable data and then insert and edit the data without exploding. The attributes can then be extracted to populate drawing lists, or drive sheet sets or any number of productive things.

As for scales, I'm quite sure there more elegant ways to do it but we have a couple of functions, the first is MSCA that deletes all existing scales and build the scales we use here (you can edit it for your scales), the second SCRESET resets the default scalelist.

Importing someone else's cad files can be hazardous to simpletons like me. I wanted to simply use their drawing without having to redraw it myself, this was meant to save time. However, using their drawing wasn't as simple as that, there were factors in play that I have no knowledge of. I took a drawing based on their Cad preferences and tried to use it, it imported their scales, their preferences along with numerous untold other things. It won't happen again.

Jeffery Martin
Cox Pools Service
3616 5th Avenue South
Birmingham, AL 35222
(205) 917-5045 Direct
(205) 917-5010 Main
jeffery@coxpoolsllc.com
www.coxpoolsbirmingham.com
Follow us on Instagram @coxpoolsbirmingham
[new logo]

Each title block on each page can be edited separately. With other tools like BATTMAN and the express too GATTE you can globally edit ALL the title blocks in the file at the same time.
