PNG plot showing in isometric view instead of top view

Hi,

I've printed a model top view to PNG format before, inly this time it's not comming out properly. My view is from TOP, and in the preview of the PNG plot shows an image from the TOP, but once I click "print" and view the image, it shows in isometric view. Any suggestions are welcomed. Here's an image of what I'm getting:

Hi,

it looks like pixel-shifting, does the same happen if you create a new PC3 file for PNG or if you try the JPG-format?

Hi Alfred,

It's not a new pc3, it's the one that's already listed in the options. When I print as a JPE file, it happens the same. But when I print as PDF, the drawing looks normal, from a top view.

Hi @Anonymous,

If you are using the default PublishtoWeb PNG I am curious if this happens in all drawings or just this one. If it happens everywhere, open the PC3 file and click on defaults. Then try another plot.

If this still is not successful, you might consider logging on as a different user to see if the same behavior continues.

Hi John,

Apparently, it's happening with only some of the pre-configured sizes I'm selecting, but only with this drawing I presume. The User 1 (1723 x 1115 pixels), and the User 1 (1115 x 1723 pixels), so far, are resulting in the isometric view. But the 5100 x 3300 pixels one is printing correctly. What's even more weird, is that the first two, which are the ones giving me the isometric view, in the preview are showing the top view. I still can't figure out why with these sizes of plot gives me the isometric view on this specific drawing.

Is it possible to attach a sample drawing? I would like to first see if I can duplicate this behavior on my computer. Then, I would like to try to rebuild those sizes in the PC3 to see if that remedies the issue.

just a silly idea, does that happen with sizes which have odd (instead of even) pixel numbers/sizes?

Hi Alfred, indeed that's what is happening. When I pick a size which has even numbers in both sides, the image plots correctly. And if I pick a size that has odd numbers on either one or both sides, the image plots with the isometric view. That's the root of the issue! Thank you! Now it only remains to find why.

Hi @Anonymous,

I would like to see if I can reproduce this on my side so that I can log it with Development. Can you tell me which Operating System you use and the exact version of AutoCAD?

Also, does this happen in all files or just one? Can you attach a sample file for me?

Hi John, sure thing...

I'm using Windows 7, 64-bits, AutoCAD 2016.

As far as it goes, the issue is occurring only in one file, but I cant share it since it's from a client, but I'm attatching the file without content. Hope somehow it still shows the issue.

This is very curious.

I was able to take your file in AutoCAD 2015 and duplicate this anomaly. I created a 2nd drawing and could again recreate the issue.

Then I tried in 2016 and 2017 but could not duplicate the action.

You have me perplexed 🙂

That means it's probably an error from that AutoCAD version, and not from some specifications in particular.
