After installing Autocad 2012 the QAT above the ribbon is not displayed although it is there. Because the tooltips of the commands become visible when cursor passes over them.

The QAT is normally displayed below the ribbon.

After a complete uninstall and reinstall the problem persists. Any idea Someone?

Hi John Vellek,

Many thanks for your replay!

And I also had the suspicion that Autocad is not responsible for this
failure in userface.

Recently I got a new PC with a processor i3 from Intel and Display adapter
intel (R} HD Graphics 510 where I tried to install Autocad 2012. And
really, I do not see anything that I could do to solve the problem.

Do you have any further advice?

Thanks in advance, Michalis Karidis

Hello Michalis,

What is your operating system? Since you are running an older version of AutoCAD this might have to be taken into account. Might I suggest that if your computer is capable, to try a trial version of 2017 to see if that behaves differently? I am not trying to sell you anything but I would like to see if a more current version still shows this issue.

Returning with AutoCAD 2012.

I use it because almost all my mail recipients have installed older programs from 2012. Till now I was using Autocad 2010

In my laptop Macbook-pro running windows 10 (boot camp) I installed 2012 without problem.

On the PC (windows 10) in the office where I have the problem with QAD 2012 , I installed AutoCAD 2016 to without displaying the same problem.

Because the Display adapter is intel®HDGraphics 510 I don’t know what I could change in the settings to solve the issue.

Ah, I see the issue. AutoCAD 2012 is not designed to run on Windows 10. So, to fix the issue you could drop to an older version of Windows or to upgrade to AutoCAD 2016 or higher. You can always save your files down to an older version (Options >Open and Save) by deafult or have your email recipients convert on their end using something such as DWG Trueview

Hi John,

Certainly I suppose you are right, but Autocad 2012 in my Laptop with installed Windows 10 pro- version 1607- has no problem and is running normally. Unlike in the PC with the same version 1607 of windows 10 installed, but home edition, appears the problem . Do you think that the different edition of windows can cause the problem of displaying the QAT?

Hi,

>> but Autocad 2012 in my Laptop with installed Windows 10 pro- version 1607- has

>> no problem and is running normally

Let me guess ... with another graphic card (and/or driver) 😉

>> with a processor i3 from Intel and Display adapter intel (R} HD Graphics 510

i3 is on the lower end, and an Intel HD is really not a graphic card for CAD-systems.

"Not designed for Win10" means when you find a problem, like you do now, no one at Autodesk or Microsoft will take any time or effort to try and fix it.

Win7 seems the best choice for R2012 users.

Q1: are you using QAT is on in your workspace and docked where you want it to be? Post a screenshot of your CUI command showing it on in the workspace.
Q2: Could the problem be you are running a 4k display and R2012 requires HD format max?
