Activity Insights says to update share location when it already has been

Why does the Activity Insights palette say I need to update my share location when it has already been updated?

Also, how do I prevent the Activity Insights palette from opening by default on first launch?

Consider changing this to a shared location (on a network), and it will go away.

My screenshot shows that I am using a shared network location, hence why I'm asking the question.

Try the "Full Path" instead of the double front slash... (copy it from the Windows address bar).

@b_ralphs May UI ask what/where \\gecko... is, and why not a full address instead?

And why do you need to keep track of it all? What value is it to you other than generic not-important info? I'm curious, I just dump mine into a TEMP folder that I empty a few times a year

This is the full UNC network path.

Just because it's not a mapped network drive doesn't mean it's not a shared network location.

Autocad runs fine with UNC paths.

i didn't test it, but

Certainly not always for everything,

so why it is so hard to run this simple and fast test?

Try it and if that doesn't change the issue, we going to the next hint.

Not good enough if you're not able to test it out with alternative locations yourself.

\\gecko.. has a full URL, find out then use it. If this is a Cloud or ShareFile location then test it out at a physical server location first. You might need to restart AutoCAD afterwards.

OK, I figured out the real issue now.

The UNC path does work, but I was specifying a path that some users didn't have write permissions to.

I changed it to a different UNC path, and it works now.

I also tried mapping \\gecko to a network drive. The yellow warning box did go away, but no events were being logged. So, the error-checking system needs some work to let the user know they don't have permission to write to the folder.

P.S. \\gecko is a physical file server on our LAN, not a cloud server.

Good idea, write this to Autodesk, via Feedback formular for example.
