I am a structural Engineer & I have to print out a lot of drawings & for each drawing I have to insert the template & drawing & then fillup the title block, after that I have to setup the page to perfectly center the template & drawing which is a tedious process.
So I want to know is there an easy process by which I can used prefilled template & just insert the drawing in it without the need to setting up the page & plot the drawing.

HI @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

I see you have a couple other posts today that are related to this process. As I suggested in one, create a template with your standard settings and perhaps even your titleblock. If you save it as a DWT file then when you start a new drawing you can base the new file upon your template.

You can also populate titleblock information based upon drawing properties or sheet set properties as well. Here is a prior post that might show some of the possibilities.

Ok terminology is key, when you say "template" you mean titleblock or border. In AutoCAD a template is a file that has specific settings/titleblocks/pagesetups/plotting parameters/etc. already setup, the file type is DWT

Attributes in a titleblock (border) can be filled out for everything up to the sheet number before and and located on a layout in that DWT template, so can the page setup including plot parameters. Notes, north arrows, legends, etc. can also be included in the template layout.

Once that's done, from there you have several options for creating a drawing:

1.) Start a new drawing using that template dwt, XREF the drawing data into model space, open a viewport in paperspace on the titleblock (border), and scale it to display the model and annotate as needed

2.) IMPORT the layout from the template into the current file by right-clicking the layout tab in the current drawing and selecting "From Template". That will add a layout tab that exactly matches the template's tab complete with titleblock (border) as filled out as it was in the template. If you've defined a pagesetup in the template that too can be imported by right-clicking on the layout tab and selecting "Pagesetup Manager", then selecting import and navigating to the template file location.

3.) You can even copy (^C) everything in the template layout tab (or a previously completed file) and paste (^V) it in a layout for the current file.

4.) and there's probably a dozen other ways to accomplish the same tasks.
