Autocad is not available on mobile devices. But another Autodesk product called AutoCAD360 is: http://www.autocad360.com

Unless you go out and buy a Microsoft Surface Pro 4 with Windows10 on it, which is a real "computer" and mobile tablet to boot.

I want to run AutoCAD 2017 on a small tablet to take into the field (for field measuring) and to take photographs (along with email and other basic office functions). Since I'm strictly a desktop/workstation person, can anyone recommend tablets for these uses? I see older posts in forums on this but are dated and the hardware in the strings are obsolete. Thank you!

Ditto what @pendean said. To use true AutoCAD, you need a Windows operating system (or heaven forbid, a Mac).

There are lots of options for Windows tablets, and the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 should be able to handle AutoCAD just fine. Graphics performance isn't what you can expect from a true workstation laptop such as a Dell Precision 7710. These monster laptops can use a dedicated, workstation class video card, which you just can't fit into a tablet.

Check out a few options here: https://wiki.ezvid.com/best-windows-tablets?id=adw&gclid=COi15KHd09ICFUodgQodJzMIag.

Another option is to get a 2-in-1 (convertible laptop) available from many manufacturers including Dell, HP, Microsoft, Lenovo, etc.

http://www.pcmag.com/roundup/346226/the-best-2-in-1-convertible-and-hybrid-laptops
