Can't open drawing file

Hello,

Using ACAD 2015. Can't open files the usual way (clicking the "A" icon, then Open, then clicking on the file, or just clicking on the open folder icon at the top). Instead, I get a Prompt at the bottom in the Command Line saying "Enter name of drawing to open <P:\...paths & file name, etc."

I can open drawings by double-clicking from Windows Explorer, but I also cannot execute a "Save As"!.

I do not know what happened, this is extremely cumbersome, as you can imagine. I have been using this program for years. don't know why all of a sudden.

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

Just type FILEDIA at the command window and enter 1. Problem solved (hopefully)!

Man am I glad I found this thread. My 2020 software started doing the same thing this week, driving me crazy!

The FILEDIA did the trick

If the version is in English and if it is Spanish, add a forward slash _FILEDIA

Hi,

ask the 2022 person for a copy, saveas dwg2013 format.

Or install

autodesk trueview

start it and open the DWGCONVERT tool from the main menu.

This tool can save your file in dwg2013 too.

And for the next time, start your own thread or take one with the same issue.thx
