topic Problem with Dimension Lines in AutoCAD Forum

I got a drawing that has the dimension lines broken up into three separate lines for each one, being the left arrow, text, and right arrow. I had this happen to me once before and someone gave me a command where I input a new value and it fixed everything. Does anyone know what that command could be or how I could fix it into one line that's all connected? Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. After looking up that command, that seems like exactly what I'm looking for to solve the problem, and it was set at 0 so that explains why everything was broken up. However when i change the value to either 1 or 2 nothing seems to change.

Is it possible I'm screwing it up, or that the original file I was sent was made in a way that this command wouldn't work?

Resetting DIMASSOC will alter the placement of NEW dimensions, it won't help repair exploded dimensions ... other than re-dimensioning them with DIMASSOC set to 1 or 2.

Thanks for the reply. So am I stuck here do you all think? I swear I found a solution to this for a project I did before but it's possible it may have been different from this and I'm mis-remembering. I appreciate everyone's help so far.

Edit: Alright guys, I'm just gonna go with the new lines and not worry about the old ones. This is a guy I work with pretty frequently and this has only come up twice so far, so I'm just gonna ask him to keep it regular. I don't know how he's changed it for two different projects but apparently he's capable of anything. That's my buddy for ya.

I do think on the last project where I thought I fixed it I only fixed the new lines with dimassoc. So I'm gonna mark that as the solution and say thanks because in the end this solved a lot of questions for me. I appreciate everything from you guys!
