Any reason you do not PLOT directly from AutoCAD to JPG and skip a few steps? Driver is already built in and ready to go unless you deleted it, and PLOT command gives you total control on what you are plotting.

Hello everyone , I would like to know what is the best way to turn dwg files into stop motion animation taking into account that every drawing should stay perfectly centred towards a unique point. What are the best programs for doing this. Thank you so much for this wonderful platform.

Hello

I have been studying number theory with autocad , generating patterns through Lisp programming. Now i want to passe to the next level by turning these patterns into animation . So if I convert a dwg file into jpg it's important that each drawing preserves it's size and relative position which will not happen if I have to re frame it. So i have a lisp program that will generate dwg files , the next program should convert these dwg files into another file that can be used in a stop motion animation.

Thank you for your interest

My first question is how are you getting the .jpg image? using the PLOT command? screen capture? or ???

Hello

For the moment I export as bitmap but i can never export just the drawing i selected, it always comes with entire screen even there is nothing else in it, then i convert it into jpg with another program photoStudio for example . At this point if I want to reframe the image I can't do it with enough precision so it's better to leave it as it is. After that i use windows movie maker Thank you

What Dean said...

In your LISP, include a -plot command and plot out your image to .jpg, then make the next step, and replot. Do it all thru a WHILE or FOR loop, whichever fits your situation better. You should be able to end up with a pile of sequenced jpgs to assemble into a movie.

.bmp is an image format. plot directly to that. If you are having issues with your orientation messing up your shot set up your perspective in paperspace and lock the viewport so it does not move and plot the same perspective as you run through your cycles.

PLOTTERMANAGER command in AutOCAd2000 in WinXP will let you create a RASTER FILE PLOTTER and you can choose JPG as an option.

There is no struggle, just no experience with the program: we can help with the latter.
