Hi,

>> am not where to do so cos am use auto autocad 2017 the ui id defferent

The only difference may be that you have dynamic input on (>>>details<<<), that changes the position and a bit of lookout, but also then AutoCAD asks for the distance:

as @chriscowgill7373 mentioned ... please upload a screenshot so we can see what you see on your system.

Another trial could be to type in the command like that

._OFFSET<ENTER>

(including point and underline) ... do you then see the request for offset-distance?

Hi,

>> cant edit dimensions when using offset

When you start command _OFFSET the first question AutoCAD is asking is to specify the offset distance.

And there the input for the distance can be done ... what is happening on your system (exactly) that you can't input the distance?

I am using 2017 and it looks exactly as Alfred posted. Infact I'm pretty positive the ui hasn't changed in years, can you post screenshots of what you see?

set DYNMODE to 3 or turn on your command prompt to enter information during the offset command. Not sure, but your screenshot shows that the alt key has been pressed, which could be a side effect of the method you used to create your screenshot.

Hi,

First change your workspace to Autocad Classic or Drafting and Annotation. Then your command line will apeear where you will find the options.

Or Press Ctrl + 9 to turn on your command line. Then just do the offset command as mentioned by Alfred.
