Greetings,

I am not a full time ACAD user. I am more a 2D user if anything. I use PTC CREO. I've played around with ACAD 3D, but not 3D viewports.

I have acquired a file that a 3d model was done. Viewports were used in paper space.

The wireframe from the geometry was edited I assume to remove lines. I don't know if there is an overall command to do this or is it done entity by entity?

My one concern I have is that a radius must have been blanked in one of the views. I want to bring it back. How is that done? This was not something recent that can be "undone".

Basically, how does one manipulate a 3D model view to turn off/on geometry? Not looking to master anything here.

Thanks,

Wayne

You turn on and off geometry with layers.

plotting/displaying 3D models in paperspace viewports will require setting a "Shade Plot"

We use a shadeplot of "Legacy Hidden" and set OBSCUREDLTYPE to 4 and OBSCUREDCOLOR to 252 (the finest pen setting in or CTB)

You screen grab indicates the visual style in that viewport is set to "wireframe", the missing arc is either on a layer that is off, frozen, or frozen in that viewport, or it isn't there at all.

Post a copy of the file, if you can.

Hi @cs2kplus,

It appears that some geometry was perhaps erased to create the view.

If you attach your file I can get a better idea of what you are facing. In AutoCAD, layers are utilized to turn off(freeze) objects so that they are no longer visible. This can be done globally or even just by viewport.

I am happy to prepare some instructions for you once I can see your file.

John,

What seems to have happened here is instead of using the system view port overall edit option the person singly selected erasing items??? You can see the viewport is set to wireframe. I turned on all layers and the fillet still did not show. Looks like it's in the 3d model? The person has other 2D geometry in 3D space I think to make sections? The fillet appears to be there. I think? This 3D model appears to be surfaced, not solid. I am not in the office today to share the file. I can on Monday. thanks so much for your assistance.

Wayne

It does appear that the radius (fillet) was deleted and was not on a layer that was turned off or frozen.

I copied the one fillet from the tab below and placed it near where the deleted one was. You can do the same thing to replace the missing one.
