Linking field to a table cells

Is there any way of getting data from a table cell in to a field ?

I have a table with Data link to an Excel spreadsheet. I would like to use the content of each cell and place it in to my drowing as a field.

For number values: Yes, for string-values, NO

Yeah i tried it just with numbers and that work but unfortunately does work for my application.

Is there any way of writing own LIPS code ?

I don't understand what you trying to say. So do you need it for strings?

And if that was your question but you forgot to ask, yes - you can also read cell values from tables with Lisp,
probably also with any other API

Yes it is a string value i am trying to mirror to my drawing from a cell.

i found this code:

but that also work only if the value is a number. If i try it with my table, I only get ####.

Can you somehow correct it the way it reads also string value.

No one from us can "correct" AutoCAD, we are mostly just users like you. Cells (cell content values) are being used just in the Expression part of the Field dialog, creating arithmetic expressions - that's why the limitation to numbers.

On the other hand, cell expressions in fields allow quite advanced combinations like relative/nested addressing of the cells - you can use another property (e.g. content of another text entity or cell value) to address a specific cell - e.g. not just valueof.B3, valueof.A6 but also dynamically: valueof.B<another field value>. Opens interesting options...
