Hi,

maybe you need to expand vertically the command line a little bit.

Did you try any of the other methods to display the area? Can you make a Screencast of what you are seeing? Is this drawing specific too? Please attach one of your files to a post so I can see if I can duplicate this behavior.

@pendean wrote:
CTRL+F2 brings up the full text screen: what is shown there? Post a screenshot of that.

[The F2 key does that without the CTRL+, though it also does with it.]

But, @Anonymous, you use wording like "after the area is selected" and "after I pick the area." Those make me wonder how you are trying to use the command. AREA requires either a series of point picks [most people don't use the word "selected" in relation to point picks] outlining the perimeter of an area, or a "selected" object, but only after the Object option is specified. If you are doing something like picking inside an enclosed area, the way you do with the BOUNDARY or HATCH command, at the first prompt, and that is what you mean by selecting or picking an area, then you're not using the command correctly.
