Mleader text color set to "by layer" doesn't work

Hello,

I created a Mleader style where the leaders are set to "by block", and the Mtext is set to "by layer".

Bur when I insert in the drawing using a layer with the color yellow, for example, and set the Mleader color to "red", both leaders and text become red (the correct were leaders red and text yellow).

If I want to have this result (leaders red and text yellow), I need to manually edit the text and change the color, and that is out of question.

Does anyone have the same problem?

You need to place the MTEXT color as yellow, the image attachment so you can see where you need to edit, and with that you will get the result you are looking for:

If you want to keep the color of the text by layer and the color of the MTEXT should be BY LAYER but the LEADER should be RED:

Thank you for the fast response.

The thing is that I work with different clients, and each of them have a standard. If I create a Mleader style like shown in the first post, I don't have to worry about that anymore.

I looked all over the forum and other forums to see if there was a problem in AutoCAD, but I found nothing on the subject.

I just don't understand why the AutoCAD don't accept the leaders in "by block" and the mtext in "by layer".

By the way, I'm using AutoCAD 2017.

I understand @Anonymous, but you need to fix what color? Do you need your leaders to always be red and the MTEXT color vary by layer?

I was trying to understand if there is a problem in AutoCAD or a variable that influences in the Mleader color behavior.

If there is really a problem in AutoCAD that doesn't allow me to configure as I want, than your first sugestion is the best one for me. Leaders "red" and text "by layer".

I am applying the mentioned: Leader color Red and Mtext By Layer and if it works well.

Could you upload the file to help you better?

Or at least one file with only the leader that gives you problems,

Are they maybe in a block? That would prevent you from changing their color.

Sorry, I didn't read your OP quite right at first. It seems to me like MLEADERSTYLE overrides setting color by layer or block. I'm able to just use the MLEADERSTYLE command and change my text and leader colors there and get the result you're looking for.

If you're trying to have multiple multi leader styles then you'd need to make one style for red leaders with yellow text, set that to current and make your mleaders. Then make another style for example red leaders with blue text. Make that current then place all of those mleaders. I think you may have been overthinking it originally by having certain blocks and layers set the color of your mleaders.

Change your leader color in the LEADERS section and not in the general. General will change both so leave that to BYLAYER

I was used to work with Qleader, and now I'm trying to understand Mleader, and this will help me.

@oswaldodcb, I will use the idea of your first post, but I'm still a little confused on how the collors works in the Mleaders. Maybe someday I do.

@Anonymous when you place the color in the MLEADER you can select the color of the LEADER and the MTEXT separately.

When you apply a color directly to an object, it will always remain in the selected hue, (even if you change layers), while assigning the Property By Layer, the color of this object depends on the tone of the layer in which it is housed, Changing according to one in one or the other. This is clear, but the assumption is By Block?

By Block, it makes sense to assign it in the context of working with entities grouped in Autocad blocks. And it works as follows:

It is used By Block, when we want the color of the object to be controlled by the color assigned to the layer in which the block will reside.

By Layer is set when we want the color of the entity to be controlled by the color of the source layer in which that entity is stored when forming the Block.

A Color is set when we want to directly control the pitch of the entity and we do not want it to be a function of either the layer in which the block will reside (By Block) or the layer in which that entity was stored at source Cap).

Depending on what you need you use a type of Color. I recommend you set a color for the LEADER (Line and Arrow) and for the MTEXT to place it by layer, but do not use By Block unless you are including your leader in a block.
