not to my knowledge.

I typically create these container files so i can use them to create my tool palettes

and to find them fix them or add to them

another option would be to "wblock" the blocks out of the file to create a single file for each block

Hi I am attempting to learn how we make some documents at my work through autocad.

The problem is that the person that use to make them has all of the blocks either under XREF or Insert and I cant find where the blocks are located as separate files.

For now I can just copy and paste from older files however I would like to know where the blocks are saved.

I am runnning ACAD 2014.

open a new file and insert the blocks into your new file using design Center

to open Design Center you can type DC on your Keyboard.

browse out to a file that has blocks you want in them and select the blocks category in the left side Folder Structure and the images will appear in the right side of all the blocks in that file.

select 1 block and drag that into your new file repeat as needed then find another file with more blocks.

this will create a series of container files for future use

Thanks!

That will help me at least store them myself, but is there anyway I can locate the source file?

There may not be any separate "source" drawing files for them -- it could be that they exist only as Blocks within other drawings, if they were made using the BLOCK command. There is no reason that a separate file is necessary, however much you may prefer that approach. So if you can't find them with some kind of Windows-Explorer Search of your system, but you want that kind of structure, you will need to WBLOCK them out, as @kadmonkee suggested.
