Hello,

First time posting forums. I have AutoCad 2016 SP1 installed on a fresh Windows 10 system. All was setup and working well for a few weeks but I've now run into a window resizing issue.

If I double-click a drawing and open it, the "Model" tabs at the bottom left of the window are showing under the Windows taskbar. Since the taskbar is transparent I can faintly see the tabs. If I de-maximize and re-maximize the AutoCad program window (or drawing window) the tabs properly resize and dock just above the Windows taskbar where the should be. If I open Cad first, then open the drawing, I don't experience this issue. It seems to be some sort of bug when opening Cad by double-clicking on a drawing from Windows Explorer.

I've tried turning on and off the model tabs, docking above and below the toolbar, cleanscreen (on/off), recreating my workspace, and other potential fixes I've found on the forums.

I'm running dual monitors and I have my workspace configured as Cad "classic". Any ideas?

I think if you save a drawing with the autocad window say half screen, if you load that drawing from windows explorer it will load half screen again. It seems to bring things back the way they were last saved. Not sure why you would have had it saved covering up the windows ribbon, but just a suggestion to try. If you fix a drawing by min then maxing it, save it, close it, and open it via windows explorer does it still cover the windows ribbon?

I discovered a similar situation just last week. I haven't totally resolved the issue but I believe it is due to scaling in the display settings for Windows 10. I suggest that you change the scaling to 100%, log off and back on and then see if the AutoCAD screen behaves normally

If I save a drawing with the screen de-maximized, it will open in the same state. I can then maximize it and it properly fills the window with the bottom sitting on top of the toolbar. If I then save it maximized and re-open the drawing, the bottom will appear behind the taskbar again. This happens with any file I try it with.

I also just applied the Creators Update to Windows 10 and the issue persists.

Thanks for your suggestions so far.

Yes, it does this on my Windows 10 as well. I found changing my scaling to 100% made it behave more normally and consistently. Have you tried that yet?
