Hi

I have the same problem that can be fixed by manually upgrading virtual memory.

The question is, I have a new Asus ROG 16MB RAM, I7 HQ, with a 1070 GTX NVIDIA

Why is this happening now? Could this be a virus eating up my memory?

I doesnt make sense, since it didn't happen before and frankly my computer is quite powerful

Hi @Anonymous,

I'm sorry that you are seeing this error.

Typically this message results from a graphics card that is not certified to work with AutoCAD. Another possibility is corruption in your operating system.

There are few things you can try.

Turn off hardware acceleration in GRAPHICSCONFIG.

Check for a more current driver for your graphics card.

Create a new user on your computer (administrator) and log on with that account to see if the behavior continues.

Please try these steps and let me know the results.

HI @Anonymous,

Did you also look for a newer graphics card driver?

To fix a corrupt OS, I would wipe the drive and reinstall everything. This is obviously a painful process but if it eliminates errors and crashes it is well worth the time.

If you are going to wipe the drive I would personally suggest that you make a good backup of all your data first and don't rely on any "automatic" save of the files.

Please tell me your OS, make and model of your graphics card, and your AutoCAD version. A new driver might fix all of this and save hours of rebuilding your system.

Since you have 16 GB of RAM, I am surprised that you find it necessary to increase the memory. I don't believe that this should cause any issues with your system but I am concerned as to why it would be necessary. It sounds as if you are possibly out of page space. Have you cleared your TEMP folder and any other cache? Are you out of disk space?

The crash happens only after 30 seconds charging practically any file. I've only found two exceptions.

The problem seems to get bigger since now it crashes also when I expand the virtual memory

I don't know what to do. I've tried almost everything and I can't afford to wipe all my files since I don't have an external drive and not a lot of time

Thanks a lot for replying

of cases, you should never have to touch your virtual memory (which means the swap space to me) - especially since you have 16GB of RAM.

Hi

Yes I have cleared my temp files. The size of the file has nothing to with it I guess since I happened with a 130 KB proyect and with a 2MB proyect as well. It seem quite random I guess, but I can work for no longuer than 4 minutes

I have AutoCAD 2017 and also the 2014 version. I happens with both of them. How can I get patches or hotfixes?

Thanks to both of you

Hi @Anonymous,

You can use the Autodesk Desktop App to find updates. Also, if you go to your account management page from inside of AutoCAD (top rt corner) you should be able to find them there too.

Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post solves your issue or answers your question.

Go to https://manage.autodesk.com/

Find your product.

Click Updates & Add-Ons

Download.

Install.

Before you do updates, log out, and log in as a new user (one that has never logged on to this PC). If it still crashes in the same manner, this pretty much rules out a user profile issue, since you will be starting with a new user profile. If it does not crash in this configuration, then RESET YOUR SETTINGS. If neither of these help, then it's probably an issue with your data files.
