Explode Text

I've created a new single line font (SHX) for CNC engraving machine. So I need to explode the text in lines and curves. This font have no closed areas and simple lines that best fit to the CNC process. However when I explode the text (TXTEXP), the polylines become broked lines as you can see on the attached images. How could I solve this?

Did a REGEN as suggested by @MostafaElashmawy correct this? If not, can you attach your font so I can try it on my side?

You might also try turning off Hardware Acceleration and Smooth Lines in GRAPHICSCONFIG to see if this might be a graphics related issue.

Thanks for your prompt reply.

The result of changing the graphic configuration depends on when it is applied, before or after TXTEXP command. So I'm not sure it is a graphics related issue.

Please, just take a look at the font "TESTE2.shx" attached.

But it's not working, after the re command they are still broken lines.

Hi @Anonymous,

This is an interesting question. I too found the same results when I used the Explode Text from the Express Tools and your font.

I had entered the text as MTEXT and ran the TXTEXP. But, when I entered the text as MTEXT and exploded it so that it would become regular text, then the results looked much better after the TXTEXP.

Can you try this on your side and let me know if you too have better results?

Unfortunately I had no better results by entering the text as MTEXT or converting to MTEXT.

I've used the "StarShapes" app to make our own font, however, the font code might has some problem. But the wierd fact is that the AutoCAD shows the text perfectly as a single and continiumm line before the TXTEXP command.

I have no idea what to do in this case.

I'd apreciate some help.

I thought an error could happen during edit and compile the font in the "StarShapes" app I used. The strange fact is that the text is perfectly shown as a single and continuous line before running the TXTEXP. So the DHX font seems correct.
I'd appreciate some extra help.

I apologize if I was unclear. I found that the TXTEXP worked fine on plain Text. Don't use Mtext as this appears to be where things break down.

Strange that it behaved better on my side. Perhaps try FONTCAM from the Autodesk App Store. It is intended for CNC so it might behave better than the old Express Tools TXTEXP.

Look into how the letter shapes are defined in the SHP file and you'll see the reason some don't cleanup so well.
