Hi,

Forgot to update over the weekend, but I managed to get the problem solved.

What I did was transferring the file to my colleague's PC who is using an AutoCad LT 2016 (mine was AutoCad 2014) and purged the file.

Somehow it worked and I was able to print the drawing now.

Not really sure what was the real issue but I don't have a copy of the corrupted file anymore so I couldn't upload it here.

Thanks everyone for the initiative to help. Surely I'll post more problem here in future if any.

Hi, I have an issue here. I used AutoCad to do my M&E Services Coordination drawings and there is this particular problem that have just occurred and I don't know how to solve it. Appreciate if there is a solution.

My drawing consists of many blocks which I used to separate individual services. However, there is one block which makes me unable to print my drawing after I convert it to PDF. I can plot it directly from AutoCad but if I plot it to PDF and then print the PDF file, an error will occur and I cannot print it.

Even if I explode that block, I still can't print the drawing from the PDF file plotted. Only after I totally delete the block and whatever lines and text in it, can I print the PDF file plotted from the drawing.

Any idea what can I do? I absolutely must print the drawing from PDF format and I need the contents in the block.

Thank you.

Hi,

>> but if I plot it to PDF and then print the PDF file, an error will occur and I cannot print it

Which driver did you use to plot to PDF, the internal "DWG to PDF.pc3" or any other driver?

When you used the "DWG to PDF.pc3" ... is this setting a result of migration when you started this release of AutoCAD the first time?

Which viewer do you use for the PDF that brings up an error ... and have you tried other viewers too (and do they show the same issue)?

Can you please show a screenshot of that error message so we know what it is telling you?

No answer, just questions ... sorry, but needed to come more close to the source of the problem.

Yes, I used the internal "DWG to PDF.pc3" to plot the PDF.

>>When you used the "DWG to PDF.pc3" ... is this setting a result of migration when you started this release of AutoCAD the first time?

I don't quite understand this but I did copied that block from another drawing and pasted it into this current drawing.

I used Adobe Acrobat Reader but have never tried other PDF viewer because my company PC doesn't allow us to install other programs.

Basically there will be 3 error messages that keep coming out when I tried to print the PDF drawing as attached

That's an error from Acrobat Reader, not AutoCAD: do you have the "open when complete" option checked in that dwgtopdf PC3 file? The error basically means your PDFs are damaged or inaccessible.

I do have the "open when complete" option on. The thing is, only if my plot contains part of the block then the PDF file is damaged. If my plot window is out of the block I can plot it to PDF and print like normal. That's the main issue because I absolutely have to plot that block into PDF and print it. But why is that block causing damage to my PDF file?

I tried to unblock it and changed to a new layer and block it again but it doesn't help. Will try to upload the file tomorrow as I'm off work now.
