Every time I dimension, when I have the Standard 1-1 dimension set as current, my dimension is made using this new Standard1-1$ instead and is not the right one. Why is it switching to this and not sticking to the current one?

Do into DIMSTYLE command, select the dimstyle you wish to use, right-click and make it current.

Now does the problem go away in this file?

Repeat for all other files.

I did that but when I do angular, radius or diameter dimensions, it creates a new style again with the $ symbol. I have to highlight the dimension, go to properties and select the one that was made current for it to change?

The dollar sign in the dimstyle name means that it is a child style such as a leader based upon a dimstyle. Can you attach a sample file for me to examine? I am happy to see if I can give you a fix to get things looking normal again.

So you think it is this issue https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-forum/dimension-style-with-0/td-p/3778432

Here is the attached file that's giving me trouble. As you can see I have my annotative dimension set current but every time I dimension using dli command or similar, it creates a different type of dimension based on it.

Hi @pedcarson,

I noticed when I opened your file that it is not a file that was created in native AutoCAD. What application did it start in?

I also found 11 Audit errors, was able to purge a bunch of items and also was able to remove quite a few regapps using -Purge.

I suggest that you perform these steps and also an -EXPORTTOAUTOCAD to see if these steps will correct this issue.
