Depends on how you are inserting the block.

If you use a tool palette button or a menu macro, you can specify the scale.

Also, an object's size does not determine the drawing file size. A line that is 1 unit long doesn't take up any less file size space, than a line that is a million units long. Both lines are defined by two endpoints. It doesn't matter how far apart the endpoints are. Same would apply for most other geometric entities. They are defined using a minimal set of data. The values of the data do not increase file size.

All our blocks are designed to be annotative and are drawn as small as possible to save file size. My question is when using the insert command the value for scale is always reset back to 1.0 instead our desired 0.1

Is there a way to have cad remember 0.1 instead of resetting to 1 every time?

Thanks.

Makes sense on file size, however some of our objects that include
dynamic features and text do appear to grow in size, not much, but
purging all items out and saving at a larger scale does seem to increase
the size based on a quick test.

Hi,

changing your insertion scale will help you from UNITS command or INSUNITS . >> Click <<

Note : also good to know about INSUNITSDEFSOURCE and INSUNITSDEFTARGET system variables.

regards,
