Hello,

I am looking for a way to see the properties of objects in text form next to/inside the objects themselves, rather than using the properties panel.

What I mean is:

I draw a closed polyline. I want to see its area printed right inside the polyline (or next to it).

I draw a line. I want to see its length printed right on the line.

I want to see all my polylines and lines with their areas and lengths all visible at once, not look it up one by one in the properties panel.

How can this be achieved?

Thanks in advance.

Thank you, this is getting closer to what I am looking to achieve.

Is there a way to run this command on many objects all at once? Or is it possible to save the parameters set in the dialog box for the next time the command is run? It's annoying to have to set up the dialog box parameters from scratch every time.

Hi,

>> Is there a way to run this command on many objects all at once?

Not as labeling, but you can create a table for every polyline and so get each polylines area or length (or both) listed in a table, command: _DATAEXTRACTION (>>>details<<<)

>> Or is it possible to save the parameters set in the dialog box

No, that is not possible.

But this workflow might help:

create one polyline + a field showing the properties of that polyline

copy polyline and field in one selection to a different place

modify the polyline to the figure you need

...so you don't need to define a new field.

HTH, - alfred -
