Hi,

a hatch-pattern can not contain solid areas, but you can make a lot of parallel lines that look like a filled area (be careful in terms of performance, that can slow down a drawing).

To the number of colors: a hatch can have two colors, one line color and a different background color. So as you have shown in your screenshot with 3 different colors the answer is sorry no, is not possible.

Hi,

I am aware of we can create our own line type hatch pattern by creating our own .pat files. But didn't find a way to define something like this (solid hatch pattern):

Any thoughts?

Thanks. Max

If it's truly critical to get a colored square pattern like you showed then you should consider creating a surface and apply a material to the surface using your swatch as the custom material pattern.

About material creation and modification:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2015/ENU/AutoCAD-Core/files/GUID-4C9F5CA6-6900-4AB5-AE0C-447C8605021D-htm.html

A tutorial...

https://www.mycadsite.com/tutorials/level_3/creating-new-custom-materials-autocad-3d-3-14.htm

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Hi,

if i understand your question right i suggest to try SUPERHATCH express tool command. you have to prepare a block sample then use it as a block superhatch .

the sample is attached ..Hope it's help ...

That's cool - almost exactly what I wanted but in a way different from what I imagined.

Thank you very much!

Something sad is I'm now using the LT version which does has Express Tools. But still very good to know this.
