Hey guys,

Wanted to get a few opinions on this if possible.

I am currently working on a Plan Set for a small municipality. My boss has asked that I create the Plan Set in AutoCAD and include all of my Excel tables , maps, etc by using the program.

Uniformity is key so I am trying to figure out the best way to create a uniform Plan Set which includes all of the data I mentioned above (i.e. same height, width, etc..). My excel Sheets are all uniform but when I import into AutoCAD the sizing is different on each table. Any thoughts on how to get uniformity? Currently using "Paste Special" and then trying to re-size. Maybe I should use a different "Paste" function?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Chris

i'm always do it as :

open the excel table via Microsoft Excel and mark (select ) the cells that you need .

Ctrl+C to notice a dimmed rectangle .

keep it opened and go to AutoCAD Edit > Paste special (see below image )

i understand what you're asking for ... what i mean in my previous post is that you will always get the right size when you insert it if you follow the previous steps. also you have to know that number and size of rows and columns in a table will affect the size of table when inserted.

Regards,

Hi @Anonymous,

My preferred way to do this is to create a datalink for each worksheet. Then I insert a table based upon the datalink and make sure to keep all formatting done by Excel. I like to place my tables in paperspace.

Does this workflow sound plausible? If you have some sample files I am happy to mock this up for you.
