Our team use AutoCAD 20.0. We must do great project in a week to our customer. Today one of our .dwg files hasn't opened, and now we are in trouble.

Hi,

first at all: copy your BAK file to another folder, rename it there to .DWG ... it could be your working last version.

Then try command _RECOVER (or in case XRefs are used then start command _RECOVERALL).

If that does not help then please upload the drawing and please let us know which version of AutoCAD you get displayed in the dialog of command _ABOUT (because 20.0 could be an internal version number of AutoCAD 2015, but it's unusual to use that number when speaking about an AutoCAD version).

If all fails you need to restore the files from your backup.

The most radical solution is restore dwg files of autocad 2002 when other methods don't work

However, a few things may get it to open:

Try to open the drawing file directly instead of using the Recent Documents menu.
Check that the storage location that holds the drawing is working properly.
Use the RECOVER and RECOVERALL commands on the drawing.
Attempt to insert the damaged file into a clean drawing or template using the INSERT command.
