Wipeout showing up in plot

Hello everybody,

My question is simple; how to make wipeout not printing in background. When I save to PDF and put it in a black background, wipeout are showing and it's very ugly. More over, if I decide to turn off the plotting from the layer, it won't do the intended job to cover the lines I wish to. On white to white, it's working but I do some photoshop and I need to make this thing disappear.

Set WIPEOUTFRAME system variable to 2.

It displays wipeout on the drawing, but it will not print.

Hi,

i suggest to try the follow :

check Plot Transparency from plot options in the plot dialog.
install the latest service pack. >> Click <<

Hi,

Sorry for late reply. I tried all of your solutions without success. I'd have figure setting frame to 2 would do the tricks, but it still output as a white background.

I didn't yet figure out, but I don't have too much time to investigate the source of my issue.

I confess that I have never tried this. Can you attach a sample file so I am sure that I see what you are experiencing? I will bring it into PhotoShop on my side to see if I can duplicate.

Thank you for your reply. I joined my .dwg file so you can print it using different settings. I tried wipeoutframe from 0 to 3; It exports the wipeout as it if was filled with white. You will be able to see it when you import pdf into Photoshop.

p.s there is a wipeout behind the trees (you can set the wipeout frame to see it just to understand if you wish).

Hi @Anonymous,

As I understand this issue, you plot or publish to a PDF and then open it in Adobe Photoshop. Then you change the white background to black. This is where you see a white Wipeout.

When I did this I first flattened everything in Photoshop and then when I swapped the white areas for black, it does not show any wipeout.

How are you changing the color to black? I used the Magic Wand tool to select all the white and then deleted to replace with Black.

You see no wipeout because you have flattened (merged) the exported PDF in photoshop with the current white BG. If you export the pdf in Photoshop, create and new layer and fill it with black without flattening, you will see my trees are fully white. Here is a file example below. Otherwise it would mean you have different setting in autocad when you export the PDF?

If flattening in PhotoShop is not an option, how about taking the drawing into Illustrator and changing the wipeouts there? You can reassign the color from white to black and then Export to a PSD. Does that work for your process?

I guess what I am saying is there is no way to change the wipeout color in AutoCAD.

I'd guess you're probably right about Autocad, it has it's own limits.

The process you describe about illustrator is correct. It works. I had give it a try before, but the problem is when i do import to Illustrator, for some reasons the file is laggy and unworkable. Strange, but true. Maybe it's about the file conversion, but having more time I'd probably find a work around with illustrator and such.

Hi @Anonymous,

The file you sent was quite large. I moved only the portion with the trees to a new drawing file and then did a SAVEAS to 2007 format which is the version my CS5 allows. It actually seemed rather snappy. perhaps you are trying to bring too much into Illustrator.

You're correct. Thing is I only exported into inllustrator the needed section cut with a few lines. I'll investigate what could have occurred later 🙂

The DV453 device, inside the rev cloud always plots like there is no wipeout. Nothing mentioned here has made it hide the din rail underneath it. Does anyone have any suggestions? Maybe AutocCAD itself has a problem???
