Plotting Text Styles

Our drawings typically consist of blocks which contain text and attributes which all have different styles. Some are historically created by us, some are from customers and some are from Autodesk.

When it comes to plotting these out, the line weights vary. Some of the text is bold and sometimes blurred whereas some is nice thin line weight and easy to read.

Since we cannot go back and change all the text styles to a common one nor can we dictate or change what the customers supply us with, is there an easy way to direct the plotter drivers to print text in a nice thin legible line weight and ignore the styles within the drawings?

Thanks
