&lt;P&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;SPAN&gt;&lt;FONT color="#808080"&gt;&lt;EM&gt;how do I scale my object without scaling it in both directions?&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt; &amp;lt;&amp;lt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;either you insert your elements as block or xref and while the procedure play with&amp;nbsp;&lt;STRONG&gt;X , Y&lt;/STRONG&gt;&amp;nbsp;factors as your need .&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;using autocad 2018.&amp;nbsp; im in paper space and I want to scale up my object but I only want to scale it in the Y or vertical direction.&amp;nbsp; how do I scale my object without scaling it in both directions?&amp;nbsp; thanks.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;what I ended up having to do was to turn my object into a W-Block and insert the object and change the scaling along the Y.&amp;nbsp; thanks.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;There are routines out there that will automate that for you, for instance &lt;A href="http://cadtips.cadalyst.com/2d-editing/x-and-y-scaling" target="_blank"&gt;this one&lt;/A&gt;.&amp;nbsp; I think that one&amp;nbsp;does it by Block rather than Wblock, but the concept is essentially the same.&amp;nbsp; Some Searching will probably find others.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>Kent's answer is the best:&lt;BR /&gt;command BLOCK.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Occasionally I will take a lattice hatch pattern and Copy-clip/Paste the&lt;BR /&gt;hatch as a unnamed block, then play with the x-scale to be 0.707&lt;BR /&gt;(first "flatten" the hatch field).&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;???&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
