I think you might be referring to the face definition lines (which are not actually lines or edges at all but just indications of face definition.

These can be controlled before or after solid creation by setting the ISOLINES variable. I think the default is 4 but some people set it much higher to get more perceived lines. The Visual Style you choose may show them or not (shaded vs shaded with edges). I actually tend to set mine to ")", especially if my presentation sheet is going to get some very clean 3D views.

Another setting that can be considered for better realism and better output to STL files is FACETRES. I always set FACETRES to 10 as this is the max.

Look both of these variables up and decide how you might employ them.

Cheers,

Hi there to all you 3D Experts out there I wonder if you can help me with my problem, I'm sure you can as you always do.

I have created a Sprinkler head which goes on the end of a Spout which is attached to a watering can the file is attached on this post - so after doing the geometry I REVOLVED it to create the Sprinkler head, that was fine but I noticed once revolved there where only minimum edges/lines created, but in the tutorial which is.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZF-k9Ni14g ...and 1:22 / 7:43 in....that has multiple lines/edges within the sprinkler head, much more than mine has.

I think its the variables that need setting beforehand but don't know what or where to find them so if you could help me I'd be very happy..

Kind regards

Cad Learner

Command ISOLINES to a larger value like 10.

I think that VSEDGES values change each time you switch Visual Styles, correct me if I'm wrong please. I like this as a final setting for my viewports that have a particular VS set.

Thanks for reminding me of that one.
