There are two possible answers, depending how the text style is set up.

For both, DIMSCALE is your friend. The tick marks will scale proportionately.
This variable will have to be saved to the dimension style in order for the
existing dimensions to update (and not as an override).

At the command prompt enter DIMTXSTY and take note of the value.
Command STYLE and highlight the value noted.

Now,
If the assigned text height is EQUAL to zero (0), you are set.
Cancel out of the STYLE dialog and command -DIMSTYLE "Save" to make
the new DIMSCALE part of the current dimension style.

If the assigned text height is GREATER than zero (0), adjust the height accordingly
-or- create a new text style and assign DIMTXSTY to that new text style.
-DIMSTYLE "Save" as above to make permanent.

If you wish to keep the ticks the same size, but adjust the text height AND
the text style has a height EQUAL to zero, play with DIMTXT.
... DIMTXT = Desired text height divided by DIMSCALE.

If the existing dimensions do not update, there is possibly overrides to the
dimensions that will have to be removed. Command -DIMSTYLE "Apply"
and select the existing dimensions that did not update.

???

I have to produce manufacturing plans that should be 1 to 10 of the actual size, but at the same time, I have to print the actual set of

drawings in 1:25, 1:10 scale.

Since those drawings are for the contractor, how do I scale my dimensions to manufacture a model smaller without changing the model size?

My question is the opposite of the question: "scaling without changing dimensions"

In my case, I want to scale dimensions for manufacturing without scaling the model for specific drawing representations (as I say, in 1:25, 1:10 scale)

Should I have to input the dimensions individually doing calculations, or, can I do this doing some adjustments in the dimension properties?

Thank you for your response and have a nice day.

Pablo

UToronto

Hi,

i suggest to use DIMSCALE system variable and change the value . then use _dimstyle >> restore OR from Dimension tab >> Update .

Command: DIMSCALE
Enter new value for DIMSCALE <0.500>:

Regards,

Hi @Anonymous, you can adjust the DIMLFAC variable or you can change it in the dimension style as shown in the picture below.

<STRIKE>Another way is to select the dimensions you want to change;</STRIKE>

<STRIKE>Go to Properties, under Fit you will see Dim scale overall this will change the scale of the dimension(s) selected.</STRIKE>

Apologies, I have re-read and now see that you want the actual figures to scale not the dimension appearance.
