mouse question

I have the Logitech MX anywhere 2s mouse and I'm trying to get the wheel in the middle to be able to use as the pan command but I haven't figure it out. I have been on their website and still can't figure it out. Would anyone here know how to get that to work. I hope this isn't a long shot but figure I would ask.

Just tried it. It was set to 1 and changed it to 0 and nothing.

The wheel is for zooming in and out, it has to be push down and hold to use as panning.

All of this setting is in the mouse driver and it's in Windows settings.

Yes I know pushing down on the wheel makes it pan and I have already been to the mouse settings on the computer.

Is the wheel button set as middle mouse button in the Logitech software ?

DIDN'T KNOW I HAD TO HAVE SOFTWARE. MY OTHER LOGITECH MOUSE I DIDN'T HAVE TO HAVE SOFTWARE AND IT WORKS COMPLETELY FINE.

It works fine without the software but in my case it works better with the logitech software.

You can change the button layout etc...

Set middle button to act as a middle butten click instead of scroll (could be your problem), etc...

Screenshot is for the gaming series (sorry but it's in Dutch) but you can download logitech software for your mx as well.

The MX anywhere has quite a lot of extra buttons you can "programm".

You can put autocad commands to the buttons (or macros).

I pan wtih my thumb (thumb button).

Quite comfortable.

nice I will have to try that one. I had to send our helpdesk a email here at work because I couldn't download the software for it. So I have to have them do it or something.

No, so have to go thru our helpdesk to get it the software set up but then they have to get it approved. sucks sometimes working for the government things don't happen over night.

One more thing about the Logitech SetPoint software - check the settings for the wheel tilt. I've found the newer MX models tend to push the left or right wheel-tilt buttons rather than the down-button until your fingers get used to it. I usually just set the left and right tilt functions to "do nothing" in SetPoint and leave them that way.

I'm using the Anywhere 2S now.

You have to install the new Logitech Options software to customize the buttons on this mouse. Logitech Setpoint will not work with this mouse.

There is a little button to the rear of the scroll wheel. You set this to "Middle Button". Then it can work to pan in Autocad.

The scroll wheel can also tilt left and right. I suggest setting these to "Do Nothing".

There are two thumb buttons. I set the forward one to a keyboard assignment of "Escape" and the rear one to a keyboard assignment of "Enter".

Unfortunately I am going to return this mouse. I use Revit and Autocad. When I am working in Revit and then go to Autocad the custom button assignments quit working in Autocad. Logitech support was unable to fix it.

My old mouse, the Anywhere MX has the same button arrangement and uses the older Logitech Setpoint software to customize the buttons. It was worked reliable for me for years (until it wore out).
