Table data entry not working correctly

We recently had some new data we had to begin including in our plan sheets, so my supervisor added a table to our template drawing for this data (construction work order numbers). The column for these numbers is set to "General" data type and Middle Center alignment.

When you run QNEW and open the template, if you enter a number into the CWO column, it automatically changes to numeral 0 when you click out of the cell. I looked at the properties and after you paste a number in, it inexplicably changes the data type to "Whole Number" and the alignment to Top Right and I cannot figure out why. Typing in numbers yields the same result.

I messed with it for awhile and could not fix it via the properties or the table style editor because it doesn't seem to want to hold any changes. The only fix I was able to find was to enter some text in the cell, after which AutoCAD says it is the wrong data type and asks if you want to change the data type. It then changes the data type to text and you can put numbers in with no issues.

However, if I go to the template file directly and open it in AutoCAD, I can enter numbers into those cells and it works fine. What gives?

Any chance you can share that portion of the DWG file here so we can check it for you?

Unfortunately no I do not think I can because it contains company information.
