AutoCAD batch files to plot into pdf

I am having trouble with AutoCAD. I go to make a batch file it works, but then when I go to open the newly created pdf the drawing is several sizes smaller and is still on the same paper size. What can I do? Is this an AutoCAD problem, or is it something in Adobe PDF?

Can you please show the DWG + the PDF? So we know what plot settings you used and what "several sizes" really mean?

Do you use Adobe PDF printer? I would use "DWG to PDF.pc3" as it is more stable and creates smaller files.

Hi @Anonymous,

How are you doing your batch plot? If you are using PUBLISH, please create a named pagesetup that can be used in the PUBLISH command. Use the option of "Plotter named in page setup". If you like to attach some sample files I am happy to take a look and I can make a video of the process as well.

I use DWG to PDF.pc3 and the problem i am describing started this week after 8 months of using the exact same software and the same printing styles

I type in batchplot, publish to pdf, and i remove all unwanted sheets with the minus command. If i do control p the pdf isnt affected in this way at all.

Can you please show your data so we can see what your problem is?

You might try to reset settings to default >>>click<<<, but I would first look to get the reason itself.

Please run command _ETRANSMIT with your drawing so a ZIP file is created with all referenced data (like pc3, ctb, ...)

Then you can use your internet browser to reply to this message ... and below of the textbox for your answer you'll find a field for attaching files.

This is the file i am working with, doing a single plot file works great, but doing a batch file is not so much

I took the reference data out, I didn't think you needed the xref material for this. And no the file is not damaged or currupted as far as I know

Well, as long as the issue you see does not depend on that data...

Looking to the PDF I have created all looks well, does it?

Or do you see any issues?

No it looks exactly how it should when you did it. when I opened it up it looks exactly how it was coming out originally. When I have been doing it recently, the image is several times smaller on the 36 x 24 inch.

Well, then either the missing references makes a difference, or you are doing anything different or you are using a different version and service pack of AutoCAD (I used AutoCAD 2018 update 1.1) and the original "DWG to PDF.pc3".

You might show your way using Autodesk Screencast >>>click<<< or we try again without missing referenced files.

Another try could be to login with a new Windows user account and try to run _PUBLISH in that new environment.

I did everything that you did and the pdf's that are created from that are still small when they should take up the entire 36 x 24 page
