Hi,

>> How do i set the sectionplane not to cut the solids?

>> I just want to project the sectionplane

I don't understand your needs, if you want to create a section you need the sectionplane at the level of the section.

If you don't need a section you don't need a sectionplane.

A sectionplane can't be projected (at least I don't know what the result of a projected sectionplane should be).

Oh, moment ... do you want to create a section block but not display the original object like it was sliced by the sectionplane?

In that case

select the sectionplane, open the property window and turn off "Live Section"

use command _SECTIONPLANETOBLOCK ... is that what you are looking for (>>>details<<<).

I wanted to create the sectionplane at the top orthographic view but when i selected that it was created somewhere else.

Now i want to move it to coincide with the XZ plane of the UCS. i pause the mouse on the red, z, line and start to drag, but when i enter coordinate 0,0,0 it remains in place.

How to tell it to move to z=0?

Select the section plane, make sure the property window is on, then you can change the X/Y/Z in the property window.
