Why does the drawing not open?

When receiving a 3D survey from a company the drawing fails to open with no error code or any other information but the 2D survey opens straight away.

Why is this?

1) Please which version of ACAD: 2018, 2017, 2016, etc ?

And which ACAD exactly: ACAD, ACAD LT, ACAD MAP, ACAD CIVIL, ACAD Architecture, etc ?

2) On which Windows: 7, 8.0, 8.1, 10 ?

3) Have you tried to open your DWG/DXF in RECOVER Mode ?

ACAD 2017, Full ACAD on Window 10 and have tried option 3. Just noticed we can open this on ACAD LT but not full CAD

Do you have a vertical product like AutoCAD Architecture or AutoCAD Civil 3D ... or at least an object-enabler installed with AutoCAD?

Or do you have any apps/tools installed which are sitting on top of your AutoCAD?

If you can upload the dwg-file we can test it on our systems, if we crash too.

Please start AutoCAD (full), run command _ABOUT and show is a screenshot from that dialog!

Than it is clear !

It is saved as 2018.

You should open it in autocad 2018 or save it as 2013.

Autocad 2017 cannot open 2018 files.

AutoCAD 2018 has a different file format, you need to save back to DWG2013 format in your AutoCAD LT so AutoCAD 2017 can open this drawing.
